Depression relapse
I stopped fluoxetine 8 months back after taking for 1 year as I was not improving and I had side effects. After stopping it for 2 months, I started thinking of living my life like before but this thought made my condition worse than ever, I became suicidal. I took escitalooram twice (10-0-10) and Supragya for 3 months which made me much better but I was having sexual side effects after taking escitalopram so I reduced it to once( 10-0-0) which again worsened my condition. Is it possible to get better from some other SSRI than the one u took before the relapse as I think fluoxetine has done some changes in my brain chemistry which cant be reversed but maintained by other SSRI, do I need to take fluoxetine for some time to reverse the effect and then start with escitalooram. If there is some case that anyone of u have seen then plz help in detail.

Hello, Antidepressant can causes sexual side effects and they are reversible. Sexual side effect can be related to desire, excitation, orgasm, and there can be erection or ejaculation problem. Antidepressants do not do any permanent change in your body they help in making neurotransmitter which are depleted in depression. Do not increase, decrease or change medication on your own you might land up in adverse drug reaction or withdrawal symptoms. You should continue your medication, all side effects can be taken care of while you continue your medication.
