Diabetes + covid positive
Hello doctor, My mother and my spouse have been tested positive and with in a week my father (67)is also tested positive diabetic with high BP . Yesterday we went for sugar test and it showed as 600 and now 400 .we are a bit worried how to handle this what should be the next process and what kind of tests needs to be done ? He is under isolation and under medication for covid prescribed my local doctors we are monitoring bp, sugar and oxygen levels (92-94)for every 2 hours and insulin is also being given  .I request you to guide us and help us to get the right treatment.

COVID infection, medicines used to treat it and cough syrup can raise sugars. Despite insulin, the sugar levels are uncontrolled.

Please consult online to discuss adjustment in insulin dosing and blood glucose monitoring in COVID. Also recommend obtaining Hba1c to get estimate of 3month average glucose levels
