Do I need a treatment for depression?
I am a college going student(female). Due to some circumstances, I have lost trust and faith from almost all people around me. Even after sharing my feelings with my closet friend, I feel upset, down all the time. I don't feel like doing anything and I have to literally fake my normal self in front of others to hide my trueself. I find it hard to concentrate on anything, which is affecting my studies and memory a lot. I try to overanalize things, repeatedly think about them and feel bad. It makes me very anxious and makes my heartbeat race. I need help. Do I need to consult a psychiatrist ? Do I need medication for it? Does medication improve the conditions?

Welcome to practo. I my opinion you are having symptoms of low mood, anxiety, low confidence, reduced interest in pleasureable activities, guilt, poor concentration, etc Most importantly it has affected your life adversely. These are clear cut indication of depression. If timely treated, it is completely curable.
Next Steps
Consider a psychiatric consultation.
