Your nipple length has no correlation with your feeding ability. You have to put the child to breast every 3 to 4 hours or whenever baby cries for feed.  Proper latching is important. Baby needs to suckle on the black part around the nipple called areola because from that part is where milk is secreted. Four signs of proper latching are Baby s mouth is wide open Baby s chin touching mother s breast Lower lip of baby is turned outwards. Most of the areola(black part around the nipple) should be in babies mouth. About your nipple getting flat you can use an empty syringe to bring it back to normal or use a nipple shield to prevent injuries to the nipple.
Next Steps
continue breastfeeding as more you feed more milk flow will come be stress free and just enjoy the time with your baby.

Hi. Nipple is only a passage, length doesn’t matter. Push the areola into baby’s mouth for feeding
