Tinnitus is commonly seen at the onset of hearing loss which is usually seen in senior citizens. It usually gets better with using a hearing aid. If it is persistent then medication for the same can be tried with limited results

He seems to be suffering from tinnitus. There are many causes for tinnitus such as sensory neural hearing loss, eustachian tube dysfunction, chronic otitis media, acoustic trauma, etc. Treatment depends on identifying cause for his problem
