Exessive prenatal folic acid harm baby
Hello.Doctors I am 30 weeks pregnant...CDA recommended dose of folic acid 400 mcg for pregnant women in first trimester..after that folic acid not needed.my doctor suggest me multivitamin+iron+calcium tab ...multivitamin contain 1.2 mg folic acid and iron contain 1.5 mg folic acid ..I took too much foliic from 15 weeks to 30 weeks...now I scared I take 2.7 mg folic acid almost 4 months...In google some data shows too much folic acid also harm ful for neural development of the baby..it may be one of the caused of Autism...too much afraid.. is over dose of folic acid really so harmful for fetus?pls help
