Kindly make sure that the fracture has united. Removal of screws and nail is not a much job.
You can be up and about with in 24 to 48 hrs.after surgery.

Removing a rod doesn't need much time to recover. Infact if your fracture has healed well you should be up and about after recovering from the effect of anaesthesia.

considering your age is 26years, it is advisable to get your rod removed after it has done its job .i.e. help the fracture healing.
