It may be due to overuse or weight gain which is causing more pressure and causing u symptoms.
Use MCR footwear or Memory foam footwears, do ankle stretching exercises twice daily for 2 weeks, pain killer meds for couple of days depending on pain, diclofenac gel to apply locally
