Fungal infection persisting
Hi, I noticed a scaly rash on my left foot 3 months back, mild itching but it kept increasing in size, it was diagnosed as tinea pedis. Was prescribed itranox and synpirox/lulifin twice a day besides, takfa and Condy soaks. After 10 days on itranox had adverse symptoms like fatigue, palpitations and edema, it was discontinued. Post Three weeks the rash subsided but came back again, continued treatment without orals and now the rash has come back again a third time after subsiding in month two. I also have a highly itchy/burning rash that has developed in another part of the foot that was diagnosed as an allergic reaction. Why is the infection persisting ? And am I on the right track? Blood test was done recently and I have high IGE antibody (308), high rbc, lymphocytes along with vit d (24)and b12 (211) deficiency, along with low ferritin and reduced thyroid function. Needless to say this has been frustrating and I am looking for guidance/answers on how to resolve this!
