You have GERD along with sluggish bowel movements. You have been having these problems for the last 26 years. I am sure you must have taken medicines but you didn't get relief.
As age advances the medicines which affect intestinal movements (prokinetic drugs) become contraindicated for the elderly. Kaayam Chooran is fine because you have been taking it for so many years. You should take some medicine like Pantaprazole which will help you in GERD. If the symptoms still persist please consult a Gastroenterologist in your area.
I understood your concern and noted the problem as well .I need to ask few more details to make a diagnosis and start treatment and advice which suits you. Pl consult me on Practo , so that I can help you better.book a time slot as per your convenience for consultation.
It seems you are suffering from Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease...
As one of the most prevalent diseases affecting the upper digestive system, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is worth familiarising yourself with. Heartburn, which occurs frequently (at least once a week), is the disease's most defining symptom. The percentage of an adult population that is infected with the disease ranges from a few to more than 30 percent, depending on where in the world you are. Patients with GERD typically start with pharmacotherapy, but making adjustments to their lifestyle, such as their food, can have a significant impact on their condition and its management. There could be a number of causes for the illness. There are both fixed elements like age, sex, and genetics and movable ones like lifestyle, nutrition, and obesity. Excessive body weight, especially obesity, moderate/high alcohol use, smoking, postprandial/vigorous physical activity, and lack of regular physical exercise are all lifestyle risk factors that may contribute to GERD symptoms. Numerous scientific investigations have identified the following foods and drinks as GERD triggers: fatty, fried, sour, spicy, orange and grapefruit juice, tomatoes and tomato preserves, chocolate, coffee/tea, carbonated beverages, alcohol. Inconsistent mealtimes, overindulging in food, and having a heavy meal right before bedtime have all been linked to GERD. In order to effectively prevent and treat GERD with nutrition, it is crucial to identify modifiable risk factors for the disease and its symptoms.
