Dandruff
Follow these practices to keep your scalp clean and healthy-
1. wash hair every alternate day- from root to tip.
2. Use a hair oil 1 hour before shampoo.
3. Dont rub your hair vigorously, gently pat dry.
4. use a conditioner if hair are frizzy.
If Your dandruff stays even after these practices, consult a dermatologist. The doctor will check if its normal dandruff or seborrhoeic dermatitis or psoriasis of scalp and accordingly you will be prescribed the medication required.

You may be suffering from androgenic alopecia which is also called as pattern baldness. The hairs start reducing in density at the crown (top) and also the hairline starts refeeding from the front. This is usually progressive throughout life unless treated. This may also be accompanied by severe dandruff. The FDA approved treatment for this condition is a lotion and tablets. There is no other alternative. No oil or cream will magically work because the hairs are getting miniaturised and eventually disappearing due to the hormonal effects on the hair roots. Along with this, you can also consider platelet rich plasma therapy for faster results. Please contact me with photos using online consult option for proper examination and treatment. Do not start treatment without consulting.
Don't worry...you are suffering from seborrheic dermatitis causing dandruff and hair fall... Medicine available for good control... Treatment depends on the severity..Do direct online consultation for detailed prescription by sending photos.
Hi,
Chronic dandruff, itching and hair fall can be due to Pityrosporum overgrowth. This condition can be effectively controlled with the right oral medicines to calm down the yeast. Along with this i usually like to start topical anti hair loss medication containing Growth Factors. And oral vitamins that boost your immunity and promote regrowth.
When I start treatment for such a condition, I expect the dandruff to come under control within 10 days and hairloss to come under control within 1 month.
As of now make sure you wash your hair daily. Especially after exercising or sweating in the scalp.
Please contact my clinic if you wish to have a personalized online consultation.
Warm regards,
Dr Niketa Sonavane.
