Herpes misdiagnosed
I have painful sores on my genitals. I went to the doctor and she suspected it was herpes. She took a swab for testing. In the same week I went to my gynaecologist and said he didn't think it looked like herpes and that it looked like the coxsackievirus. He also gave me antibiotics that are safe during pregnancy (I am in my second trimester), and took a blood test. The swab came back positive for hsv type 1 but the blood test was negative. Is it possible I got a false positive?
