High Serum Creatnine
My father aged 62 years had complete heart failure in February but never had any kidney problem as such. On admission in AIIMS his serum Creatinine value was 2 but doctor in AIIMS, New Delhi gave the reason as heart failure but the values remained as it is till today. Today it is 1.9. Please tell what to do. His water intake is 1 litre daily and daily he has been implanted with CRT-D device on account of heart failure.

Hello. Creatinine is marginally high. The reason for water restrictions is not kidney functions but the heart problems. A very less functional heart cannot pump with more force and bp will be a problem. So fluid restrictions. To some extent less water content condition will also sometimes increase creat like severe dehydration or vomiting. As of now follow the guidelines given by your cardiologist.
