High Stress nd depression
I am working in mumbai and reside alone in a flat. when the lockdown start, i locked myself in my flat.  In the last 50 days, I'm moving out only 5-6 time only to collect some groceries. From the last 2 weeks I found myself insomniac nd a small 1-2 sneeze, 1-3 cough within 2-3 day or just an episode of hyperthermia, I feel that I had covid-19. Starting some exercise and music therapy but the condition is not improving. Always a fear of infection. How can I get rid of this problem?

Hi, I believe your stress levels and insomnia are quite normal to feel as we, alone, or as a world haven't seen a pandemic before in our times. Moreover, with the season changing the symptoms that you've talked about are normal too. It's okay to feel scared. Here's a few quick tips for the stress and insomnia: • Remember you've been following all precautions and that COVID is curable. • Do deep breathing right when you wake up and right before bedtime. • Cut down on any stimulants (coffee, tea, cigarettes, chocolates) 5 hours before bedtime. • No screen time one hour before bed- Pick up reading or listening to podcasts. • Don't spend time on your bed for other than sleeping at night. Our bodies associate things with feelings sooner than we realize. • Naps shouldn't last for more than an hour a day. • Exercise- Basics, really. I hope this helps and I hope you feel better soon.

Hello Practo user, I understand your concern, as the pandemic has increased a lot of unrest in everybody. There is an increased fear also because there are lot of cases in Mumbai. I would suggest you to consult a physician first and when you go out for unavoidable tasks take the necessary precautions. The sleep issues are related to the negative thoughts regarding the pandemic. For improving the sleep you can start your day by doing some meditation , structure you day in a way that your mind and body are occupied, you can also include a walk in the evening time , avoid taking caffeine after 6pm, listen to soothing music before sleeping.
