I have a Cough
I have a cough that has been going on for more than two weeks. I went to the health services in my college and they said I might have pertussis. It is loud and most times I feel like I might throw up but don't. The cough is every few minutes. I also am taking Robitussin CF max and Robitussin CF max Night. And 1 Benadryl at night before bed. Then they said to stay in my dorm for five days unless the test results come back negitive. Do you think that is the right or wrong thing.

It is unlikely to be pertussis as it is a rare disease nowadays. You seem to be suffering from post viral cough which is common type of dry cough syndrome after an attack of viral upper respiratory tract infection. Usually it will resolve on its own within few days. You can use dry cough syrups, strepsils like lozenges and steam inhalation for faster recovery
Next Steps
Consult nearby ENT specialist for confirmation of diagnosis and appropriate treatment if required
