You should get your teeth restored(filled). But if the cavity is too very deep then you will have to undergo root canal treatment. That will be decided once you consult a dentist

This is the best time to visit a dentist, with an x ray it will allow the dentist to see the depth of the cavity but as you are not in any pain it might just be sorted with a filling. do not wait for the pain to begain .

Hi. As per your history, you may not require root canal treatment. But sometimes in such situation tooth decay may be very close to inside pulp tissue. And as the dentin has tubular structure ,it's very borderline. It's better to judge with x ray before you start filling.
Next Steps
You should visit dentist early.
Health Tips
please don't avoid treatment , otherwise Root canal treatment may be required.

If there is sensitivity occasionally, and there has never been continuous pain associated with that tooth then, there is no need to do a root canal. A simple restoration (filling) will suffice for your problem. For more info you can Google 'Dental Galaxy'

Get a radio-graph done and let the dentist check it clinically in your mouth to check the depth of the root canal.Do not delay the visit as it might as well further aggrevate the pain

Hi,A xray has to be taken to evaluate the cavity depth & accordingly whether root canal is required will be decided or if cavity is not deep a normal filling is sufficient.
