Itching in the eyes is mostly due to allergy. It can also be a symptom of infection like conjunctivitis. If these symptoms are occurring for the past few days only, you may get relief by applying cold packs on closed eyes, washing with cold water, etc. If the symptoms are long standing and are not relieved by above measures, it is better to consult an ophthalmologist.
