My father is losing interest in having food. Symptoms of jaundice were not quite evident but it was my mother who suspected and when we tested it turned out to be true. Total is around 6.4 Mg/dl(report attached). He has recovered from Jaundice earlier. Looking for opinion on how dangerous is the current situation and whether hospitalization is a must or not.

Hello
Your father definitely has jaundice but what is the cause needs to be assesses. You should show your father to a physician or gastroenterologist. He may require other tests like USG of abdomen/HbsAg/HCV among others. The decision to admit or not would depend upon his general condition and on reports.
