Jaundice problem
I recently had a liver function test and my SGOT was 3000 and SGPT was 1450 and after 8-10 days it went back to normal values is it normal.

liver have ability to maintain healthy itself most of the cases. bt in few cases medication is needed.if values r normal then it is normal bt after few days check up again ur sgpt level.

Jaundice Jaundice is a yellowish discoloration of the skin and mucous membranes caused by hyperbilirubinemia. Jaundice becomes visible when the bilirubin level is about 2 to 3 mg/dL (34 to 51 μmol/L). SX – Fever, malaise, myalgias, changes in stool color, pruritus, steatorrhea, and abdominal pain (including location, severity, duration, and radiation). Important symptoms suggesting severe disease include nausea and vomiting, weight loss, and possible symptoms of coagulopathy (eg, easy bruising or bleeding, tarry or bloody stools). PE – Eyes (icterus). Skin (jaundice). Abdomen (hepatomegaly, splenomegaly).
Next Steps
DX – CBC. Hepatitis panel. LFTs, Bilirubin. • Imaging (X-Ray, U/S).
Health Tips
TX – Admit to hospital for further diagnostic work-up and management. Tx depends on etiology.
