Hi..There are many viruses which causes herpes infection.Basically sexual contact is the major cause,although skin to skin contact may lead to infection which is less prevalent as it is caused by its(HERPES VIRUS) other rare types,though directly none can contract the infection unless the infected person has any abrasion or cut in the skin for transferring the virus.
