Applying ice pack for 15mins twice a day will be helpfull in regulating the knee pain, sitting or lying on floor should be avoided, also any pressure on the knee joint or acitivty that involves knee pressure must be avoided. Consult online/offline for further treatment plan.

Apply ice packs3-4 times a day(15-20 min). Spray voilini. Keep leg in elevation. No massages. Consult online for detailed assessment n treatment plan accordingly

Your friend need Patellar mobilization. i.e a bone which is in the centre of knee. Due to lack of movement in that joint causes swelling and painful movement of knee.
