Lingering cough
The child has a lingering cough which goes away only with Levolin and then Singulair tablet. Singulair was given for 2 months and then stopped by mid sept as prescribed by the doctor, but then after 4 days she caught cold with thick phlegm and cough. Started on lEVOLIN SYRUP. Would like to know for a 5 year old kid, for how long can singulair be given

Hello.. Singulair tablet is nothing but montelukast...well it is a mast cell inhibitor..it will prevent the release of mediators of inflammation thereby reducing the symptoms..but it needs minimum 2 weeks for effective action...and then please don't continue without follow up with the paediatrician...thank you
