Lipid profile fasting query
Hi, My doctor advised 12 hour fasting without any time of food intake before the blood test. I had dinner at 9pm and I plan to take the blood after 9am tomorrow. But I had the Cholestrol medicine Atorva 10mg at 11:30pm today. Will this hinder my fasting?. Is it better to postpone the blood test to another day? I couldnt check with my doctor as it was too late. Please let me know.

No. When you go for any blood tests for which starvation is a prerequisite then all the medicines which you are taking regularly should be taken in spite of starvation.

Patient's detailed medical history is required. It is recommended to consult a doctor professional through the Practo app or visit a local medical facility for a thorough evaluation. Please keep in mind that detailed medical history is crucial for proper diagnosis and treatment.
