Loose motions for baby
Hello doctor my son 6 months old now. Since last night  he doing loose motions Nearly 10 times and 99F fever also can i use ( ofloxacin & metronidazole suspension ) Diof  for loose motions . Please suggest me doctor how much dose used for this baby recently iam start to feed  semi solid food like banana puree and cerlac.

Give enterogermina liquid two times, zinc syp for 14 days...plenty of liquid orally... Dint use antibiotic without pediatrician's advice...

Most of the times loose stool are secondary to viral infection. Therefore antibiotics won't be of any help.

keep your baby hydrated and with this much frequency: see a doctor or do tele consultation

Give plenty of liquids/ breast feed to maintain hydration.

Give Syr Bifilac 2.5 ml thrice daily for 3-5 days Syr Z & D 1 ml once daily for 14 days Continue complementary feeds, if started.

In loose motions maintaining hydration is very important..give ORS after every stool,starting antibiotics on day 1 will not be very usefull, since most are viral in this age Give nestum rice , mashed rice with dal pureed form , continue breast feeding
