Your mother is having degenerative changes in spine, also her back is flattened. Consult physiotherapist for:
- treatment for pain relief
- strengthening of spine muscles
- postural correction.
She may use belt for few days till pain reduces. In the long run, it is better to wean off the belt and strengthen her spine muscles which will help to maintain good posture and reduce strain.
Next Steps
Consult orthopaedician to take opinion regarding calcium supplements.
Health Tips
Bed rest till pain subsides. While lying down, let her keep both knees bent. You can keep a pillow under her knees to achieve this position. This will help to keep her lower back relaxed.
It's osteoporotic spine with mild lumbar scoliosis, u need to take physiotherapy sessions for your mother for best management, medicines won't work in these cases
