Macular degeneration
I am diognised with age related macular degeneration CNVM around August 2015. I was given three injections on each eyes in pioneered eye hospitals in Delhi. In the beginning i was having 6/6 vision on my right eye and after getting the first injection in my left eye the right eye also degraded and had got injection in right eye as well as advised. After getting 3-3 injections on each eye my vision got degraded substantially. After that i started ayurved treatment at Sanjeevan Netralaya, karolbagh delhi. At the beginning they boosted a lot and i saw some improvement in first month. But after 6 mont.hs of treatment over there vision has no improvement but had degraded some how. Now they are telling that cataract is forming on my eyes and get that operated but as i got checked outside i was advised its still not matured enough to be treated. Also i have diabetics and under control with medicine. Looking for some sincere advise on it as i have quite a hazy vision now in the age of 71 .

Hello sir A. In my opinion, your treatment is in right direction.. B. ARMD affects macula.... treatment is injected avastin/lucentis..once every month for atleast 3 months(more injections may be required) C. Treatment is aimed at halting the progression of disease and to restore the affected vision but in these cases,no guarantee of vision can be given. You can use low vision aids if you have difficulty in near task

Diabetics are prone to develop cataract and macular degeneration commonly though anybody can develop both these diseases in old age . What is your vision in both eyes presently . If possible please also post your angiography and OCT reports done initially and the latest one too . 100%assurance cant be given to the patient for the intravitreol injections but at times ultimately the laser shots might be required
