Hello, my sister got diagnosed with MDR tuberculosis last month.she has been advised 2 yrs treatment.I wanted to know how to take care of our other family members that they don't come in contact with the disease.
Please help.

Hi. I understand your concern s. If she is sputum positive then she needs isolation till she becomes sputum negative and keep a regular follow up with your treating doctor

Please let us know, what organ is affected with TB, if it is the lungs, then atleast all the kids in the family less than 18 and elderly should get a Chest Xray done. Ideally everyone. Keep your doors and windows open
and keep the fan on. Do not allow her to remain in air conditioning. Also for first few months, encourage her to wear a mask.
If it is outside the lungs dont have to worry much.
Also everyone should maintain a good level of nutrition
