Hi, Melanoplkia is blackish discoloration of mucosa. Many a times it do not require any treatment. However if it is associated with leukoplakia or erythroplakia it may be precancerous. For this you may require a biopsy to rule out malignancy. Unless I look at the picture of your oral cavity and talk with you it won't be possible to tell you whether you should go for biopsy or just ignore it. Kindly consult online for the same. Thanks
