My father has thyroid 17 and has hernia
My father age is 59 has thyroid and has hernia . Doctor informed that thyroid has to be low and after that only hernia surgery can be done. Can you pls guide.

Generally for any surgery important blood tests has to be within normal range. If thyroid value are abnormal then it is recommended to control it first and then go for surgery.
Next Steps
Unless absolutely required, postpone hernia surgery till thyroid gets normal.
