See newborns do have a higher range of indirect bilirubin as compared to older children and adults This tends to normalise as the baby grows old, but if there is problem of persistent jaundice, then look out for possibility of breastfeeding jaundice Ensure timely and adequate feeds, ensure night time feeding as well, ensure the child is passing urine 7 to 8 times a day and the baby is sleeping well after feeds.

Look out for signs like lethargic baby, not feeding well, altered coloured stool, if persistent consult
