Not able to motivate myself to live
A lot of things have happened during my childhood that has made me who I am today. My parents don't believe in psychotherapy a lot so they don't seem to think I have a serious problem. All they can say to me is "let the past be in the past".I'm tired of hearing their nonchalance remarks on my misgivings. I've visited a psychiatrist as well and she just wants to focus on me going to college and chalked it upto anxiety. Even she said the same thing as my parents..move on from your past. What happened to "what happened to you yesterday made who you are today?".A few days ago I felt the most pressure I've ever felt and cut my wrist and nobody knows about it.Not even my parents although they suspect that I did that to myself. All I do know is just keep wishing to die.Just want someone to help me through this which has turned into the roughest phase of my life so far.

You need to deal with your past experiences. While it true that your past experiences shape you, you can choose how you want the past to affect you now & in the future. Please try seeing a counsellor who can help you through the issues you are going through. Maybe you can convince your parents that you need to see a counsellor for career counselling if that would help you get the support you need.
