Hi I am 33 years old and very often experience excruciating pain in my hands mainly fingers, wrists and elbow.. on both my left and right hand.. it's difficult for me to hold on to something too long if I am using my hands. For eg. While cooking sweeping, writing.. I need to keep shifting from my right to left to stop the pain. Do you know why is this happening..

Hello!
You are most likely suffering from 'Carpal tunnel syndrome', which is caused by compression of a nerve (the median nerve) in the wrist. This pinching or pressing of the nerve is causing the excruciating pain that you are unfortunately experiencing. Besides pain, you can also have tingling and/or numbness, as well as weakness of the muscles of the hand and wrist.
Next Steps
The most appropriate test to confirm the diagnosis is NCS, which stands for 'Nerve Conduction Study'. This test is done in a hospital, as a machine is required to demonstrate the compression of the nerve.
Unfortunately there is no medical treatment, that is no tablets can relieve the pressure on the nerve. It has to be done via a simple procedure, the details of which will be explained to you by a surgeon. You will also need physiotherapy and a wrist splint.
Please see a neurologist as soon as possible.
Health Tips
I notice from your particulars that your weight is 118kgs. Being overweight is a very big risk factor for Carpal tunnel syndrome. It will be advisable to gradually lose weight by diet control (low-fat or 'no-fat' diet), and doing simple yoga exercises at home.
