My father has a bent posture while walking..over a period of time, he has pain in hips and legs...he experiences pain while lying down in bed..when he gets up and walks..pain is relieved.
Please advise.

This is more muscles related pain due to leading a sedentary lifestyle. Unfortunately the more one rests the more one will get pain and then they will rest more.
Next Steps
ask him to take breaks every 20-25 minutes. use a walker at appropriate height (elbow level) while walking to keep an upright posture. give him 2-3 pillows and arrange them in T fashion.
