My father is feeling pain near ear and jawline. There is no pain while chewing. There is a continuous pain. There is swelling near the ear as well. Please let me know what to do and with which doctor specifically to consult.

Pain around ear n jawline could be due to wisdom tooth, any other carious tooth, TMJ related discomfort, Parotid gland etc. So proper history n clinical examination is must.

Visit dental clinic or video consult
Apply some ice pack over swelling, it can reduce swelling
Don't eat anything hard until problem is resolved completely

1. If Patient having pain in ear head and throat mostly it is due to wisdom tooth.
2. If not due to wisdom tooth than check for any decayed tooth in upper and lower jaw. Infected decayed tooth causes pain like this also.
3. If 1. And 2. Found normal than tmj(temporomandibular joint) should be checked.
For the time being take analgesic after consulting a doctor. Check for any decayed tooth in the lower jaw. Then take an x ray. Mostly it will be due to dental pulpitis.
