Patellofemoral pain syndrome
Hello i have been experiencing patellofemoral syndrome and my knee is a little unstable and there is almost no swelling. I have almost very little pain but i cant get back to my daily activities of playing football and gym sessions. And my knee feels tender and i cannot put any stress or weight on it. Its been a month since this injury and iam doing exercises and strechting daily 2 times. I apply ice and also iodex and heat pad to it. I have strong quadriceps but still i got this injury. I can walk at a normal pace but not fast and i need to be careful while going down the stairs and take one step at a time. Iam worried because of its just not going and its been already a month so can you help me with something iam missing? Or not doing? And also how long do i have to deal with the injury? When would be the correct time to start cycling, jogging etc?

Your knee pain could be due to knee cap injury. You should strengthen your Quadriceps by biking, swimming, etc avoid doing seated knee extension. You should do gluteus strengthening and hamstring stretching and IT band stretching exercises with proper guidance. You should check your arch of your foot.
Next Steps
You need to consult a Physiotherapist or Orthopaedist for complete assessment and treatment as early as possible.

Hi there Based on what you are sharing as your complaint, it seems like there could be a ligament injury or meniscal injury. It is better to meet a physiotherapist or an orthopaedician and get assessed at earliest
Next Steps
Consult an orthopaedic surgeon or a physiotherapist at the earliest. An MRI could be necessitated.
Health Tips
Delayed diagnosis could further damage affected tissue. Knee braces could help if it's grade 1 or 2 sprain/strain. Do not strain with unnecessary stair climb/descent. Do not exercise for now until a proper diagnosis and treatment is ascertained.

You should be visiting a physiotherapist. Some reasons which predispose patellofemoral dysfunction are foot pronation and multiple other foot issues Another reason could be reduced internal rotation of the hip. Only a physio would diagnose these issues and deal with it. And McConnel taping usually reduces pain straight away with aggravating activity. So, do try physio treatment...
