What is perinatal depression. My baby born 3 days before. They have mentioned perinatal depression in summary report. Is this risky And how frequently I need to visit doctor

Baby should cry immediately after birth, if not it’s labelled as perinatal depression.It’s related to neurological activity (brain activity). If your baby is accepting feeding well, spontaneously moving his/her limbs, crying for feeding then you need not to worry as it indicates that his/her brain functioning is good.

If your baby is not accepting feeds well, not much active then you need to consult a Pediatrician
