Physical stress
Dear doc,I had unprotected sex on the 8th(11 may) day of my mensuration cycle while my periods ended on  (8 may) to which I guess u wasn't even ovulating and had levonorgestrel within 7 hours and have been going through bleeding and some particles with the blood. But as it was my first Intercourse and I broke my virginity it's still haunting me and racing my heart as much as it can and making me stressed thinking I might get pregnant while I'm undergoing with some family issues. Am I safe from conception? I'm really physically and mentally stressed cause of the concern.

Hi. There are multiple issues that need to be addressed in your case. First levonorgestrel as per FDA is safe for all age groups, and if you have taken within 7 hours the success rate is very high. It can be taken upto 72 hours. But the more time passes the lower is the success rate. At 72 hours the success rate is 87%. The dose is 1.5 mg at once or 0.75 mg taken two times 24 hours apart totalling to 1.5 mg. Do not take over 1.5 mg. Those doses are special cases not for everyone. Also taking this was kind of a good idea as you were on 11th day of your cycle, hoping that till now your cycles have been regular and of 28 days. You can calculate the time of your ovulation quite precisely if you have been having regular cycles, usually ovulation happens 15 days before the bleeding begins. The initial period before the ovulation can vary widely. The sperm can survive for upto 5 days in the uterus. So, your decision was good. However, avoid taking emergency contraception regularly as it can mess up your cycle. Now coming to the bleeding part: if you had bleeding then it is highly likely that you won't get pregnant. However it will get clear 100% once your menstrual bleeding starts. Many a times the cycles might get delayed due to stress also. If the stress continues then you may check at home with urine pregnancy test kits weekly once till your bleeding starts. Also if you continue to have bleeding or the flow is heavy do meet a gyenaecologist to get your self evaluated. Don't wait too long. Another issue that might complicate your situation is your age, as you are 17 years of age, legally you are underage and I hope your partner was not above 18 as that can be very uncomfortable legal situation even if this intercourse was consensual.
Next Steps
most probably you won't get pregnant. so try to relax and distract yourself from this issue as stressing might cause your cycles to prolong than usual. Hormonal pathways in our body have very fragile balance and taking stress causes that balance to break. If you want more detailed consultation you can contact me, I give online consultations and therapies.
Health Tips
Ask your partner to use a condom rather than take these kind of risks and stress for the whole month. these stressful periods will mess up your cycles even more and will cause even more stress for you. Also these pills are for emergency purposes only, don't make it a habit to use these often as the content is hormones and additional hormones in your body if taken irregularly can cause difficulties for you in long run. so please be cautious.
