The development of piles (or hemorrhoids) can be attributed to several factors, including: chronic constipation, straining during defecation, prolonged sitting or standing, low fibre diet etc. In essence, both terms internal haemorrhoids and piles, describe the same condition: swollen and inflamed veins in the rectum and anus. The choice of term may vary depending on regional preferences or colloquial use, but medically they are interchangeable. Luckily, it's cure is there, which first requires to find out the exact root cause that too individual specific. Further it's management is possible from a whole range of medications, minor non invasive procedures to surgical; depending on the stage of condition.
