Hi All,
My wife is pregnant (10 week) and after sonography we got to know that there is a slight opening in cervix of 3.5 mm diameter.
Therefore, is there a possibility that due to low hemoglobin this occurs?
Please also let me know if not this what else possibilities might be the reason for it?

Cervical incompetence is not related to low hemoglobin..
it cn occur if there has been a history of previous pregnancy losses or miscarriage ,ny instrumentation done on cervix n past , infections etc..
you can ask your doctor to out a cervical stitch at 12to 14 weeks pregnancy provided there s no infection

This is called cervical os incompetence , reasons for this could be due to pressure caused by growing weight of foetus ,or may be due to sitting in squatting position , we suggest you to take bed rest and regular check ups .
