Hello
Sometimes it's very difficult to distinguish normal postpartum blues from post partum depression. It has been almost close to a month now. I need further details on how her daily routine and functioning has been, how has her other sleep and appetite functions been and is she on any other medications. Also, past history and family history is important in such case to rule out possibility of any Bipolar disorder.
Next Steps
Consult a gynaecologist to rule out any other post partum causes such as anaemia etc. Consult for further advice on medications and instructions on how to take medications while breastfeeding the child.
Hi
Post partum depression is due to biological causes and needs treatment
Also it increases in severity rapidly so please consult a Psychiatrist as soon as possible as she needs to take care of self and the baby
It had good results with the treatment
