Pregnancy and SLE
Hi There is a 30yr old patient 5weeks of pregnancy and she is having SLE and majorly take steroids to control that Wanted to know will that effect baby health in any form.? What measure need to be taken ?

Steroids will not harm baby. However, her pregnancy is a high risk one and she needs to register at a hospital with physicians and ICU backup. Meet the rheumatologist with all reports so that steroid dose can be reviewed. There are more chances of abortion, preterm delivery or death of unborn baby in SLE. However, if it's well controlled and patient is monitored regularly, risk of this will be substantially less
