Query regarding starting solid food
Hello, My daughter is 4 months old today. We had a visit to a local pediatrician regarding green color stool. He mentioned that is not much of a concern but to keep an eye on the consistency and quantity. Also he suggested to start foods including water of cooked lentil and mashed fruits in a very small qty. Our regular pediatrician told us to hold on salt and sugar till 1 or even longer if possible. Our daughter is formula fed due to physical challenges. Please guide what and when can we start feeding our daughter Birth weight 3.2 kg Current weight 7 kg All other developmental milestones met as guided by our doctor

The WHO and AAP guidelines recommend exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months, followed by the introduction of complementary foods while continuing breastfeeding for up to two years or beyond, as mutually desired by mother and child. This practice ensures that infants receive the full spectrum of nutritional and immunological benefits provided by breast milk, while also supporting maternal health.
Next Steps
Exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life.
