I noticed sometimes while sleeping mostly at night my tongue hurts on one side. It doesn't happen frequently but has only happened 2-3 times to me. I didn't have any injury as such. It hasn't happened in the past few days but I'm just concerned when to see a doctor? Sharing pic for reference.

If you're experiencing occasional tongue pain on one side and it's not accompanied by any visible injury or other concerning symptoms, it might not necessarily be a cause for immediate alarm. However, if the pain persists, worsens, or is accompanied by other symptoms such as swelling, changes in the appearance of your tongue, difficulty speaking or swallowing, or any other unusual sensations, it's a good idea to consult a healthcare professional or a dentist for a proper evaluation.
If the pain continues to be sporadic and doesn't seem to be causing significant discomfort or interfering with your daily activities, you might choose to monitor the situation for a little longer. However, if you become concerned about the pain or if it starts occurring more frequently, it's best to reach out to a medical professional for guidance and to rule out any underlying issues. It's always better to address any health concerns sooner rather than later.
