In some people this could be normal also, while in many others there might be a refractive effor, u just need to get your spectacle number checked once follwed by retinal evaluation for completion of examination by an ophthalmologist..
Stay safe
It is possible that you may have a mild lazy left eye or the left eye may require slight optical correction. Your ophthalmologist can examine you and guide you further.
In any case, unaided vision of 6/9 is good enough to continue to function normally in most situations.
Next Steps
Have your eyes examined by your ophthalmologist who could explain the reason for this and guide you further.
Health Tips
Keep a watch on your vision and report to your eye doctor immediately if the vision continues to fall or other symptoms like pain, redness or headaches develop.
6/6 or 6/9 - in one eye may not cause any issue. But if patients age is less than 8 yrs then can do some occlusion exercise in 6/6 vision eye to enhance vision in 6/9 vision eye. Pl consult a eye dr
Normal vision is 6/6 unaided in each eye checked separately.
You need to go for a checkup.
If this has not happened suddenly, no redness, pain, watering then u can take a routine appointment after the lockdown. If any of the above symptoms persist or if there is any black spot or blurred vision then u need to immediately see an Ophthalmologist.
How did u come to know??? Did u notice it on ur own about drop in vision in ur left eye or it was picked up at eye examination??? Normal vision is 6/6.
When did you get to know about it ,what did your Ophthalmologist say? since how many years you had this way?was it corrected? or even with correction or not its still 6/9 without any further improvement?
Relevant case details/history and in person check up is necessary before commenting any further..
Vision 6/9 in the left eye is definitely less than normal.
Normal vision should be 6/6.
There are several reasons for not having 6/6 in both eyes but the commonest is refractive error ( number ).
Wearing glasses should solve your problem.
Please visit your nearest eye doctor and get your eyes checked.
If inspite of glasses vision is 6/9 then we can look at other things like dry eye, amblyopia etc...
Vision is usually 6/6 in both eyes. 6/9 in one eye could be becasue of a spectacle correction or there may be some underlying problem which needs to be checked
It is normal sir.
Two eyes in a single person are not same.
For left eye u can go ahead for refraction and after getting power you will se better.
Thanks
First of all nothing to worry.
You may have small refractive error in left eye which may need glasses if it is difficult in your day to day work.
Else you need not.
But you have to do a complete eye examination once the lock down is over.
If you notice any deterioration in vision, pain, redness consult with an Ophthalmologist immediately.
Else you can wait.
Vision can be less than 6/6 in one or both eyes due to many reasons.uncorrected refractive errors, fine corneal opacities, lenticular changes, vitreous pathology, macular or retinal changes.Get your self a eye checkup.
