Two things you should't do now that you know you have pre-diabetes.
1) Don't panic or get alarmed/anxious. We have other issues going around that anyways is causing anxiety.
2) Don't ignore the diagnosis.
It simply means you run a risk of getting diabetes at some point of time. You should re-assess your life entirely and make changes to it.
- If you're generally a couch potato, you need to change. Start doing elliptical or treadmill in your house. Walking or cycling are great options too.
- If your diet involves a lot of junk foods and excessive carbohydrates and fats, you need to reduce them. May need to possibly increase protein consumption. The best option is to consult a dietician, get a diet plan and follow it.
- Check for FBS, PPBS, HbA1C after 6 months.
