Rectal bleeding
My 2year old son is having a traces of blood in his stools towards the end and couple of drops sometime. We dont see these blood traces everyday, maybe once in 2 days or 3 days. His stools are semi solid yellowish color. When we consulted near by dr, he said he is suffering from ambioli colitis and advised us to stop giving milk & curd. Even after stopping them, we do see blood stains in his stools. Could you please advice what action we need to take & which specialist to consult

Hi if this bleed is not associated with pain than is generally due to piles and quantity of blood should be more. If this is associated with pain and quantity is less than this is due to fissure. At times there may be sigmoid colitis which leads to crampy  lower abdominal pain and may cause passage of blood in stool. You should avoid constipation, as this is the cause for piles/ Fissure. it's better to get evaluated , a short scopy done to rule out the underline problem. Give plenty of water. Get him evaluated soon. Take care.
