Sir wat is the cause of schizophrenia ?Can someone get schizophrenia ,without anyone in the family tree suffering from it ?and isit lifelong ?wat if the patient refuses to.take meds for prolong period of time?wat hapoens to.the kids of schizophrenia patient ,isit possible that they dont get the disease at all ?

Hello, There are multiple causes for Schizophrenia. Multiple etiology plays a role in causing  the illness. Yes, it can effect anyone. It effects 1 person out of 100. Though family loading increases the risk of affecting by it. If patient is not taking medicine then the symptoms may deteriorate and they can be harmful to themselves and family. There are long acting injectable present which are to be given once a month for the same. Yes, as told multiple etiology plays a part so there are high chances schizophrenic patient may have children with no illness.

You need psycho education of Schizophrenia illness. Biological, psychological and social trigger factors combine to cause Schizophrenia. Its not necessary that Child of such patient will definitely get illness.
