Regarding baby's sleep
Hi I have a 5 week old baby girl. She has a very unusual sleep timing. For 2 days she sleeps only for 5 hours and on 3rd day she sleeps for almost 20 hours. The days she doesn't sleep she becomes very cranky and fussy. Should I be worried. Or is it normal. She started this routine few days back. During her 1st month she used to sleep for 20+ hours daily. Kindly suggest what to do it's very disheartening to see baby struggling with sleep

Babies can have variable sleeping patterns sometimes as they don't have so called circardian rythm before 5 to 6 weeks. Start preparing her for circardian rythm recognition by keeping the lights dim from 7 to 8  pm ..at night keep sound of her room low, no loud noise  or loud toys. Give her massage before putting to bed.. Keep her room fully illuminated at day time..
