Regarding rabies
Sir i was going through a village road,as it was a raining day so their was water in the road,a truck was coming from front n it crossed over the water due to that some parts of that road water sprayed on my legs,their was a little cut on my leg of 2-3days earlier,but it was covered by black skin and i saw earlier a dog was drinking that water,so my question is That (i).because the water touched my legs and their was old little wound of 2-3days earlier so Can i getrabies?? (ii)Should i have to take vaccine?? If yes then how many vaccines?? (iii)Earlier i have taken 12vaccine from 2008-2012,so if i again take vaccine will there be any side effect or reaction???I have attached images of my leg small cut TODAY I VISITED TO A LOCAL MD DOCTOR HE TOLD NO NEED TO TAKE VACCINE AND DONT THINK SO THINGS.

Hello there....., Rabies is spread from an infected animal when the virus from its saliva enters the victim’s nervous system through a bite, scratch, or lick on open skin or mucous membranes .. dogs, cats, only shed the rabies virus in their saliva for a short period of time usually 4 to 5 days before they develop symptoms.  If the animal has not developed symptoms by the tenth day after the exposure then the animal would not have been shedding the virus at the time of the exposure....observe the dog for 10 Days....
