Can laughing, talking and eating too much make worse my tmj disorder problem when I am wearing a tmj splint and elastic for braces to correct my bite or overbite?

Hi,donot eat food when wearing the splint,some other things are to be avoided like chicken bones,guavas etc.

There are certain instructions and precautions that have to be followed while you are wearing a splint. A detailed list will be provided to you by the dentist you are getting treated from. However a limited mouth opening is recommended. Opening the mouth wide ( yawning ) or forceful stretching can have effects. Elastics have to be kept clean and oral hygiene should be taken special care.
